We’re heading down the Princes Highway and taking over the Corio Bay Motel in Geelong. This OK is a little different, it’s all local. Nothing outsourced here, we’ve got Geelong acts, Geelong food and Geelong art. See The Murlocs play the Corio Bay Motel car park, you can watch them from the balcony outside your room if you feel like it, make a new friend at the Tell Your Friends You Love Them ‘Pie Night Friend Speed Dating’, of course they’re Routleys, and take in some immersive performance art from Never Said Motel. We’ve even made an interactive road trip so you can have a good time getting there! See you at the Corio Bay!

‘Choose Your Own Adventure’ Road Trip

We’ve found the best bits between your house and Geelong and made an interactive Road Trip. Now you don’t have to guess what’s worth turning off for, or getting out of the car for, we’ve done the legwork for you! Follow along in either Google Maps or on the shiny new OK Motels website. You can pick a Road Trip playlist too curated by some of our fave OK artists to keep you company on the road.

Pie Night x Tell Your Friends You Love Them ‘Friend Speed Dating’

Speed dating for friends with pies, Routleys of course .

Never Said Motel

Never Said Motel invites audience volunteers to play the role of real-life figures in intimate conversations that have, until this point, only happened in our performer’s mind.

More to come.

The Murlocs

‘Uncle Murl’ as they’ve been affectionately dubbed, set themselves apart for their signature blend of old-world rhythm, blues and psychedelia, bolstered by the unmistakable vocals and harmonica breakdowns of Ambrose.

Parsnip

Parsnip founded their gumnut gang sounds on remnants of the past; youths of the 60s singing their pre-pubescent little hearts out, mingled with D-floor favourite Le Tigre’s Deceptacon.

The Living Eyes

The Living Eyes are up-beat and wonky, just the way we like it. It’s punk rock, garage and power pop and a soundtrack to a very good time.

Green Blanket

Green Blanket are a four piece band of old friends hailing from Geelong/Surf Coast. They make off kilter tracks of light and dark. Creating sounds that are simultaneously raw but refined. Drawing from a wide range of tonal inspirations, from the wings of a funeral cockatoo to Iggy Pop’s limp.

Phaedo

A five piece group hailing from Geelong. Phaedo produce fuzz rock sounds that waxes heavy and wanes psychedelic.

Welcome to Country by Uncle Barry James Gilson

A singer, poet and actor. Barry specialises in bringing back the ancient words and language of his people the “Wathaurung”.

This project is supported by the City of Greater Geelong through the Arts Industry Commissions.
